EcuTek in Relation to its Tuning Partners and Customers

This section describes EcuTek's relationship to it's partner companies and (in turn) their customers. It explains how EcuTek structures it's sales, and why this is good for both the end customer and the tuner carrying out the work.

EcuTek's Relationship to its Tuning Partners

EcuTek provide ECU tuning software and services to commercial tuning companies around the world. For a list of our dealers, please use our dealer locator. EcuTek software supports over 600 cars and we are constantly expanding our database to cover new makes, models, maps and features.

Training

Whilst EcuTek tools make tuning quicker, easier and more successful than was previously possible, it is still a significant undertaking to become proficient in the use of these tools. To this end, EcuTek provide training for all of its programs before and after purchase. Our courses range from day seminars for groups, to individual tuition at your facility, and can be tailored to your specific needs.

License Fee

The first time an EcuTek tuning partner tunes a particular car using the tools, a small license fee is paid to EcuTek. Contrary to what many people would have you believe, this fee is small, and is similar to the cost of a ROM board used to plug new chips into earlier vehicles. This license fee contributes to the continuous development and support of EcuTek products, as well as ongoing training, and regular information and feature updates to our tuning partners. As a result of this, EcuTek's success is directly linked to the number of vehicles successfully tuned by its partners:

  • EcuTek regularly update their tuning partners with support for new ECUs as they are released.
  • EcuTek also update the tuning tools with suggestions from their customers, providing more features that make the product quicker, easier and more effective.
  • EcuTek supply their tuning partners with example files for various engine configurations, as well as providing ongoing telephone and email support to it's partners, should they encounter any problems whilst tuning a customer car.
  • When a tuning company purchases EcuTek tools, it is not the end of their contact with EcuTek - it is the beginning!

EcuTek invest significant time and effort supporting their partners - something that is only viable when each tuning partner is going to tune large numbers of cars. This is why EcuTek do not sell their tuning tools to the public - the cost of training a new user only becomes cost effective when that user has the correct background (so will learn effectively) and will tune many cars using the knowledge and experience that they attain from EcuTek.

Support for New ROMs

As an EcuTek partner, if you come across an ECU not currently supported, our ProECU software allows you to easily dump the ROM and email it to us where our development team will strive to add support. As this is a difficult process this can take up to 7 days depending on the complexity of the changes.

By offering this service to our tuners, our database is constantly expanding, and as a result we support more ECUs than any other similar tuning suite.

Community

Our Forum allows our partners a place to discuss ideas or suggestions with hundreds of tuners and enthusiasts all over the world. We welcome discussion on everything, from particular tuning problems or successes, to suggestions of features or support you might like to see. Our development team regularly contribute and assist on all levels of queries and update you on our progress and new products.

At EcuTek we take pride in supporting our partners, and we have even been directly involved in several events such as:

  • MRT's entry into the 12hr Bathurst endurance race with the Mazda 3 MPS.
  • Kocar's entry into the Polish Time Attack, using our soon to be released product, RaceROM.
  • Mitsubishi Racing's entry into the 2008 Britcar 24hr endurance race with the Evo X.

Having EcuTek tuning partners around the world allows more people to get their cars modified successfully. Since all EcuTek tuning partners have the ability to customise the tuning of the ECU, it means that each tuning partner may tailor their ECU product offerings to their specific market, climate and other related products e.g. exhausts, turbos and induction kits. A WRX suitable for -20°C winters in Canada running 94 octane fuel may be tuned very differently to an identical WRX in +30°C Brazil running 91 octane fuel. EcuTek make its tools sufficiently powerful and versatile that the tuner may customise the calibration for each unique situation, and this is evident in the quality of the finished product.

EcuTek's Relationship to the End Customer - the Car Enthusiast

EcuTek currently provide two products to the enthusiast – DeltaDash and EasyECU.

DeltaDash

DeltaDash is a logging and diagnostics program which allows you to view real time data telemetry and also provides logging for a massive range of senor outputs, along with many features such as In Car Dashboards On Road Dyno testing.

EasyEcu - Available from your local EcuTek tuner

EasyECU is available from an EcuTek partner and allows you to switch between pre-programmed ROM files, designed by the tuner for your car. This gives you the versatility to control how you want your car to perform, if you need greater performance during a track day, or to re-load the standard ROM for everyday driving, you can now get the most from your car.

You can purchase these products from any of our tuning partners to take maximum advantage of an ECU remap. We offer support for all our products on the EcuTek forum, along with discussion on ideas, suggestions and problems with other users as well as EcuTek's tuners and software developers.

As a rule, EcuTek do not provide tuning services. These services are provided by EcuTek's tuning partners around the world, who are in close proximity to the vehicles undergoing work. Therefore, any queries and suggestions relating to tuning of the vehicle should be directed to the tuner carrying out the work. EcuTek will of course provide any support required to the tuner should they request it.
