Flash2004

Software Overview

Flash2004 supports 2004 onwards Impreza, Legacy & Forester vehicles (fitted with Electronic Throttle Control engine management), and allows reprogramming of the standard OEM engine management unit.
UK, US, Australian, South African, European & Japanese vehicles are all supported.
This is the software that EcuTek use every day for remapping and tuning this range of vehicles.

Tuneable Parameters

Flash2004 allows you to alter parameters in the ECU, such as:

Fuelling
Ignition Timing and Ignition Compensation
Boost Pressure & Wastegate Control Maps
Boost Limit
Turbo Dynamics Control
Boost Pressure Based Speed Limiting
Maximum Speed Limit Removal
Rev Limit
Air Flow Sensor Scaling

Exhaust Gas Temp. Warning Threshold

Advanced Features

Flash2004 supports the RaceROM Feature Enhancement providing custom features and functions normally seen on aftermarket ECU systems to the manufacturer standard ECU. These features provide a new level in tuning potential.

Speed Density based calibration - Provides the option to run the vehicle fuelling based on MAP, engine speed and air temp, allowing the removal of the MAF or larger intakes.
Launch Control - Provides a customisable launch control system.
Map Switching for Fuel, Timing, VVT and Rev Limit - Provides alternate maps for fuel, timing, VVT and rev limits which can be switched while the vehicle is in operation.
Downshift auto blip - Provides a momentary throttle adjustment when changing gear, raising enging RPM to aid quick down-shifting.
Flat-foot Shifting - Allows for upshift gear changes to be made while the accelerator is fully depressed.
Per-gear Boost Control - Provides maps for tuning the boost level for each gear.
Per-gear Rev Limits - Provides maps for setting rev limits in each gear.
Custom Parameter Logging - Provides access to custom data logging parameters not available using the Subaru diagnostic tool.

Some of the other advanced features for Flash2004 include:

Logging and analysis of live, and recorded ECU data using DeltaDash.
Innovate external sensor logging facility which allows additional external sensors to be logged by DeltaDash.

Live Data:

When connected to a car, Flash2004 can offer real time data and map tracing.
The following data is available from the "Live Data" tab of the ROM file being accessed. This data is accessed directly from the ECU in real time.

Engine speed: RPM (Revolutions Per Minute)
Fuel Injector Pulse Width: The time in ms that the injectors are open
Ignition Timing: This displays the actual ignition timing that the ECU is currently using
Knock Correction: Knock correction is the amount of Ignition timing removed by the ECU because of knock
Air Flow Sensor Voltage: Shows the reading from the Mass Airflow sensor
Custom RaceROM parameters such as:-
- Desired Boost
- Engine Load
- Ignition Knock Retard
- Ignition Learnt Correction
- Ignition Coarse Correction
- Knock Sensor Input
- Initial & Max Wastegate Duty
